“A budget is telling your money where to go instead of wondering where it went.” -Dave Ramsey

#playmoney

Play money. DWM defines play money as: “money leftover (after saving and other financial obligations) to spend on whatever makes you happy.” Depending on who you ask, it could be: going to the bar, your daily starbucks run, those Gucci shoes, or even those weekly brunches with your friends. And if I am being honest, it is one of my favorite lines on my budget right after my savings/investing. It allows me to indulge in one of my guilty pleasures…scratch offs!

So why is having play money on your budget so important? If you are making strides towards financial freedom by paying your bills on time, saving for the future, and being responsible with your money…you deserve to have some fun and use your money for what you want! I am a firm believer that you can live your best life even while being on a budget. Ultimately, it is all about a balance and doing things in moderation. So yea, while saving for the future...go on that trip, get those new Airpod pro’s or treat yourself to something nice.

I personally think everybody that is budgeting, should add this line to their own if it isn’t already there. And speaking of adding things, why not add this to your closet too? I am excited to announce that DWM is finally offering Merch! I want to formally introduce the #playmoney Crew Neck Series! The #playmoney series was developed to promote holistic financial wellness.
